Free bus travel entitlement conference

01st May 2008

On April 1st 2008 the local entitlement for those aged over 60 and the disabled in receiving free bus travel was extended to allow bus travel throughout.

TTE will now be running a conference to how the Department’s guidance has been applied to date and we will hear from high level speakers commenting on the experiences of the devolved areas, looking at the level and scope of concessions that have been applied and what the impact has been on improving social inclusion as well on local economies. Representatives from the bus industry will also discuss the effect the free travel scheme has had on patronage levels and the commercial implications this has given rise to.

The conference will take place on the 28th April 2009.
